Chinese national confirmed dead in quake-triggered tsunami in Japan: embassy

TOKYO, March 17 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese embassy in Tokyo said Thursday that one Chinese national was killed in Japan following Friday's great quake.

The Chinese victim was killed in Ishinomaki city, Miyagi Prefecture, when the quake-triggered tsunami hit the area, according to the embassy's working groups in quake-hit areas.

The detailed information of the victim will not be released on the embassy's website at the request of the bereaved family.
